jean is a 2020 Philip Parson’s Fellow and member of the Belvoir Writers’ Lab as well as the Development Assistant at Goalpost Pictures.
jean is currently in development for FLAT-EARTHERS: THE MUSICAL, which had a premiere reading at Arts Centre Melbourne as part of Midsumma Festival 2020. alongside Lou Wall, jean is also the co-creator and co-writer for DRAMAGEDDON, a queer apocalypse podcast presented by Queen Victoria's Women's Centre and supported by Broadwave.
jean's previous writing includes: HUNGRY GHOSTS (Melbourne Theatre Company) and ROMEO IS NOT THE ONLY FRUIT (Brisbane Festival, MICF @ Malthouse Theatre) which was nominated for two Green Room Awards (2018) including Best Writing and Best Ensemble.
jean directed OH NO! SATAN STOLE MY PINEAL GLAND! which received the Melbourne Fringe Award for Best Emerging Performance Ensemble in 2019. jean also produced LOU WALL'S DRAG RACE (Melbourne Fringe Best Emerging Artist Winner, Best Performance Nominee) for Griffin Theatre's Batch Festival.
jean was selected for Film Victoria’s Plot Twist programme and by Screen Australia to be part of their Developing the Developer initiative in 2018. In 2020, Jean is being supported by Film Vic to undertake a 10 week industry placement on NEW GOLD MOUNTAIN with SBS and Goalpost Pictures.
jean has published in Going Down Swinging, Peril Magazine, Meanjin (Spike), and Witness Performance. jean has also presented at Queerstories and Emerging Writers’ Festival.
